Our story

Kanzi Kreations is,
at its heart, my story.

Rakhee · Founder & Lead Designer

I'm Rakhee, founder and lead designer — born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, where my journey with art began. I went on to study Design at the University of Nairobi, where I discovered a deep connection to textile design and the expressive power of art on fabric. My early career as a textile designer shaped my foundation, refining both my craft and creative voice.

Life then led me into our family business, which I ran alongside my late father for over two decades. Those years instilled in me resilience, discipline, and an intuitive understanding of building something meaningful. Alongside this, I quietly returned to design — establishing a tailoring workshop and creating bespoke soft furnishings for the hospitality industry.

Yet, the pull toward art never faded.

In the stillness of the COVID pandemic, when the world paused, I found my way back to creation. I began painting again — this time translating my work onto fabric. What started as a simple idea — hand-painted tote bags lined with traditional Maasai Shuka — quickly resonated. The first pieces sold out within 24 hours.

But beyond the response, it was the connection that stayed with me. Each piece carried intention — celebrating women, culture, and the richness of the world I grew up in.

And so, Kanzi Kreations was born — where art meets heritage, and every piece tells a story of identity, culture, and the beauty of living between worlds.
