Growing up in Africa meant living close to something extraordinary — nature in its most untamed, breathtaking form. Wildlife was never distant; it was part of everyday life.

Elephants moved in quiet strength, zebras roamed freely, giraffes stood tall in effortless elegance, and flocks of flamingoes painted entire landscapes in soft shades of pink.

We were privileged to live in one of the only cities in the world with a national park at its heart — where encounters with the wild were not rare, but real, frequent, and unforgettable.
